We Cleaned Up Our Little World
I had great plans this weekend for CUW. I wanted to literally clean up the world. As life goes, plans changed and “the world” became our neighborhood, which does look a little brighter since we’ve cleaned up. The LGS Crew was again ready to work, but just a little silly today. I’m not really sure what they are doing here. ↓

We were not really sure what we were going to find on our walk because we have seen all sorts of things in previous walks. Our country roads are relatively clean, but every once in a while, there are a few surprises. I called public works one day to pick up a fender someone had lost after apparently missing the curve right before our house. Apparently, they tried to recover somewhere between the easement and our front lawn, managed to do so, and lost their fender along the way. I wonder what they were drinking. Anyway, we brought out the big bag. ↓

As we started out, “little dude” just showed up. I’m sure he was lost, but he had the funniest gait as he continued walking trying to look like he had some place important to go. Along with the occasional fender, people also bring their dogs to the country and set them free. I guess they figure that their dogs will be happier hanging out with strangers. Hopefully, he is from the neighborhood and will figure out which way is home. He was a little too quick on his toes for us to collect and try to help; plus he had somewhere important to go. ↓

We managed to collect a decent stash of garbage and we didn’t even go as far as we planned. ↓

We will add these bottles and cans to our recycling bins.↓

If you missed participating in CUW this year, then there is always next year (every third weekend in September), but why wait? We had a great time when we did this as a green and natural living project earlier this year. Since we go for walks every morning, we decided on Wednesdays (trash day), we will pick up trash and at least keep our neighborhood a little cleaner.
