Child’s Play

One of the reasons we moved to the country was so our children could run wild through green grass, dance with the horses, and swim with the fish in the stream.

Something like that. I happen to like green grass, cats are more my style, and I prefer swimming in a pool. My children love the outdoors. It will be 40 degrees and they still want to play in the creek. I’m not sure how their “city-feet” became “country-feet” which enables them to walk barefoot over gravel and sharp rocks. It doesn’t
really matter. I’m just glad they are enjoying how special it is to live free in this beautiful world of ours. Environmental consciousness can be acquired anywhere; in the country or the city, indoors or outdoors.

Last school year, we started a course study we call green and natural living lessons to our homeschool schedule. We took on a green or natural project, or enjoyed an activity that promoted environmental appreciation and preservation. It has been great fun for us and we encourage you to give it a try and make this a family effort as we are doing. It is an opportunity for you to make a positive difference and your children (or the children of others) can tag along and learn something too. Send us pictures and let us know what eco-fun you have. We have some exciting fun planned for this year.
